Sahims drie kortfilms &#8211;<em> &#8216;Land of the Heroes&#8217;<\/em> (2010), <em>&#8216;Baghdad Messi&#8217;<\/em> (2012) en <em>&#8216;Bad Hunter&#8217;<\/em> (2014) &#8211; werden geselecteerd voor maar liefst 250 festivals en kaapten er in totaal 97 prijzen weg. Zowel &#8216;Baghdad Messi&#8217; als &#8216;Bad Hunter&#8217; haalden bovendien de shortlist van de Oscars.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Zagros&#8217; is vanaf 15 november te zien in de Belgische zalen. <strong>Feyyaz Duman<\/strong> speelt de titelrol. Andere rollen zijn weggelegd voor <strong>Halima Ilter<\/strong>, <strong>Daria Hachem Mohamed Gulli<\/strong>, <strong>Brader Musiki<\/strong>, <strong>Suat \u00dcsta<\/strong>,<strong> Elvan K\u00f6\u00e7er<\/strong> en <strong>Maaike Neuville<\/strong>. Het scenario werd geschreven door Sahim Omar Kalifa en <strong>Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem<\/strong>. Ruben Impens stond achter de camera. De montage gebeurde door <strong>Dorith Vinken<\/strong>, en <strong>Rutger Reinders<\/strong> componeerde de muziek.<\/p>\n<p>De film vertelt het verhaal van Havin, de jonge vrouw van de Koerdische herder Zagros, die beschuldigt wordt van overspel. Ze vlucht met hun dochtertje Rayhan van Koerdistan naar Belgi\u00eb. Overtuigd van haar onschuld gaat Zagros hen achterna om in Belgi\u00eb een nieuw leven te beginnen.\u2028Maar eenmaal in Brussel blijkt Havin toch niet de hele waarheid verteld te hebben en gaat Zagros alsnog twijfelen. Hij moet kiezen tussen de liefde voor zijn vrouw en de eer van zijn familie. Het project kon rekenen op steun van het VAF en werd bijkomend ondersteund door het economisch Fonds Screen Flanders. Met ook de steun van het Nederlands Filmfonds, de Netherlands Film Production Incentive, het Centre du Cin\u00e9ma et de l\u2019Audiovisuel de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Wallonie-Bruxelles, Eurimages, het Creative Europe MEDIA programma van de Europese Unie, Casa Kafka Pictures, de Tax Shelter van de Belgische Overheid, het STAP programma van Telenet, en Canvas.
