We hebben met hart en ziel aan Cleo gewerkt en van zulke mooie ontvangst in Rome hadden we nooit durven dromen!&#8221; &#8211; aldus Anna Franziska J\u00e4ger.<\/p>\n<p><em>CLEO<\/em> beleefde zijn internationale premi\u00e8re op Alice Nella Citt\u00e0, een onafhankelijk samengestelde parallelsectie van het Filmfestival van Rome, twee dagen na de wereldpremi\u00e8re op Film Fest Gent. De film is ook geselecteerd voor de jeugdfilmcompetitie Just Film van het Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (15 nov-1 dec), het belangrijkste filmfestival in de Baltische regio. Deze bekroning wordt jaarlijks uitgereikt aan de beste debuutfilm uit de festivalsecties Offici\u00eble Competitie en Panorama. Bovendien is er aan deze award ook een Italiaanse distributiepremie verbonden.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Het juryverslag:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;A candid and passionate film, essential and authentic. Through skillful direction, the staging and the story, teamed with the fine performance of the young actress, construct a tense and emotional drama. The film offers hope to overcome adversity proving that anything is possible with the help of sentiment and art. Ik hoop dat dit een mooi begin is voor het internationaal festivalparcours van de film. Haar liefhebbende oma probeert Cleo en haar broertje een warm nest te bieden, maar moet het ontgelden met een rebelse tiener. Cleo zoekt troost in haar pianospel en de muziek van Rachmaninov, maar ook in de mysterieuze Leos\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>De hoofdrol wordt vertolkt door Anna Franziska J\u00e4ger (My Queen Karo, Booster). De cast bestaat verder uit Roy Aernouts (De Behandeling), Yolande Moreau (Le tout nouveau testament, S\u00e9raphine), Lucie Debay (King of the Belgians), Natali Broods (Fa\u00e7ades, Over Water), Martha Canga Antonio (Black) en Ishaq El Akel. Brecht Goyvaerts verzorgde de cinematografie, Alain Dessauvage de montage, en muzikant Mauro Pawlowski schreef de originele soundtrack van de film.<\/p>\n<p><em>CLEO<\/em> is een productie van Lunanime, in coproductie met Wrong Men en BeTV.
