Bilall vertelt hoe deze film voor hen de poorten van Hollywood opende.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Adil El Arbi<\/strong> en <strong>Bilall Fallah<\/strong> maakten in 2014 hun eerste langspeelfilm\u00a0<em>Image,<\/em>\u00a0met het geld van de VAF-Wildcard.\u00a0Die kregen ze in 2011 voor de kortfilm <em>Broeders, <\/em>een mooi budget voor de meesten om een nieuwe kortfilm mee maken. Het duo wilde er echter ineens een langspeelfilm mee maken,\u00a0nochtans werd dat door iedereen in hun omgeving afgeraden.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Micha\u00ebl Roskam<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Rundskop<\/em>) was onze mentor en <strong>Nabil Ben Yadir <\/strong>(<em>Les Barons<\/em>), dat waren onze broeders die het al hadden gemaakt in de filmwereld,\u00a0zeiden dat we op onze bek gingen gaan&#8221;, Bilall. &#8220;Ik had heel veel twijfels, maar Adil zei &#8216;F**k it!&#8217; en dat heeft ervoor gezorgd dat we het toch gedaan hebben.<\/p>\n<p>Het is film met fouten die ik nu niet meer zou willen maken, maar daardoor wisten we wel hoe we\u00a0<em>Black<\/em> gingen doen. En daarmee zijn we op Toronto International Film Festival geraakt, waar we een Discovery Award hebben gewonnen en zo zijn de deuren van Hollywood geopend.
