en was ook actief bij NTGent. \u00a0In 2008 richtte hij mee het theatergezelschap FC Bergman op. \u00a0Op televisie was hij te zien in de series<em> &#8217;16+&#8217;<\/em> , <em>&#8216;LouisLouise&#8217;<\/em> en<em> &#8216;Rang 1&#8217;<\/em>. \u00a0Met film heeft hij nog minder ervaring. \u00a0Hij was tot nu toe alleen te zien in bijrollen in <em>&#8216;Zot van A.&#8217;<\/em> en<em> &#8216;Weekend aan Zee&#8217;<\/em>. \u00a0Maar in &#8216;Marina&#8217; speelt hij de hoofdrol. \u00a0Een rol waar hij al lange tijd zijn zinnen op had gezet.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/nl\/matteo-simoni-is-rocco\/schermafbeelding-2012-09-25-om-15-24-59\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29289\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29289\" title=\"Schermafbeelding 2012-09-25 om 15.24.59\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Schermafbeelding-2012-09-25-om-15.24.59-800x500.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/w-l-c.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Schermafbeelding-2012-09-25-om-15.24.59-800x500.png 800w, https:\/\/w-l-c.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Schermafbeelding-2012-09-25-om-15.24.59-432x270.png 432w, https:\/\/w-l-c.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Schermafbeelding-2012-09-25-om-15.24.59.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Er zullen twee Rocco&#8217;s zijn in<em> &#8216;Marina&#8217;<\/em>. \u00a0De eerste is het tienjarige jongetje dat een eenvoudig en zorgeloos leventje leidt onder een stralende Zuid-Italiaanse zon. \u00a0Altijd blootvoets, altijd een glimlach om zijn lippen, altijd \u00e9\u00e9n of andere kwajongensstreek in gedachten. \u00a0Pas wanneer zijn familie naar Waterschei verhuist, ontdekt hij dat het leven ook hard kan zijn voor wie arm is en minderbedeeld. \u00a0Maar de immigrantenjongen is veerkrachtig en vergeet nooit het advies dat hij van zijn flamboyante nonkel Antonio meegekregen heeft : je kunt alles doen wat je wil in het leven als je het maar doet met passie en creativiteit. \u00a0Daar leren we de Rocco kennen aan wie Matteo gestalte geeft, de jongeman die zich probeert te uiten met muziek.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Matteo Simoni is dan wel van Italiaanse afkomst, maar sprak zelf geen Italiaans toen Stijn Coninx eraan dacht om het levensverhaal van Rocco Granata te verfilmen. \u00a0Hoe kreeg hij die rol dan uiteindelijk te pakken? \u00a0Hij vertelt het ons zelf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Matteo Simoni was voorbestemd om Rocco te spelen\" width=\"618\" height=\"348\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IDOuP_2ATrQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
